3591357 - Special Stock Not Supported in Service Management - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

When a product is available only as special stock, such as vendor consignment stock or project stock, and the product is used as an item in a Service Order, the system does not check the special stock quantity.

Instead, the system checks availability only at the regular plant and storage location level.

When creating a Service Confirmation for the Service Order, the following error message may be displayed:

Deficit of SL Unrestricted-use &1 PC : &2 &3 &4

This means that the system cannot find sufficient unrestricted-use stock at the storage location, even though the product may be available as special stock.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Special stock is currently not supported in Service Management in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

As a result, Service Order and Service Confirmation processing can only consume products from regular inventory. Stock available only as special stock, such as vendor consignment stock or project stock, is not considered during availability checks or consumption processing.

Based on the current product design, special stock cannot be consumed directly in Service Management.

To use the product in a Service Order or Service Confirmation, transfer the required quantity from special stock to regular inventory first.

After the product is available as regular unrestricted-use stock at the relevant plant and storage location, continue processing the Service Order and Service Confirmation.

Workaround

1. Identify the product required for the Service Order item.
2. Check whether the product quantity is available only as special stock.
3. Transfer the required quantity from special stock to regular inventory.
4. Confirm that the product is available as unrestricted-use stock at the relevant plant and storage location.
5. Create or continue processing the Service Confirmation.

Feature Request

If special stock consumption is required for Service Management, submit a feature request through the SAP Customer Influence Portal.
