3591365 - Incorrect Employee Name Order Shown in Report Internal Employee Details After Changing Name Format in Business Configuration

Despite updating the name order in the Business Configuration -> General Business Partner, the names are not reordered into the desired format in report Internal Employee Details.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Navigate to Business Configuration > Overview.
2. Search for "General Business Partners" activity and open.
3. Click on "Maintain Name Formats" hyperlink.
4. Select the target row.
5. Change the order of the Name Format.
6. Navigate to Business Analytics - Design Reports.
7. Open Report Internal Employee Details.
8. The order of the name is not shown as what has been maintained in Step 5.

The Report Internal Employee Details displays names based on Business Partner data. Changes in the General Business Partner activity -> Maintain Name Format in Business Configuration work center do not impact existing business partner records which leads to the order in the report is also kept.

This is a standard behavior as business configuration changes will not have impact on existing employees. It is recommended to maintain the Name Format before the first business partners are created in the system.

If it is necessary to change the order of an existing business partner, please following below steps:

1. Navigate to the Business Partner Data -> Business Partners.
2. Search for the specific business partner. 
3. Select the business partner and click Edit.
4. Go to the General Tab.
5. Click on Additional Name field.
6. Find the Country/Region for Name Format field. 
7. Change the country for name format to another country.
8. Save the change. 
9. Change the country for name format back, and then the new name format will be applied.
10. Save the change.
