3591814 - Performance issues when importing model with query filter in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

  • Query on import model takes 4-5 hours to update the query filters creating a performance issue.
  • After the update is done, it takes another 4-5 hours to refresh, doubling the amount of time required to update the query filters.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud 2025
  • SAP HANA database

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Logon to SAP Analytics Cloud
  2. Open the Model
  3. Go to "data management "
  4. Select the import job
  5. Select Edit -> Query 
  6. Change Filter Value 
  7. Save changes
       
    Saving the changes takes around 5 hours on production but the query does not save, until it is refreshed which takes another 5 hours

Cause

  • Old Agent version causing the performance issue.

Resolution

  • Update the Agent to the latest update.
