Symptom

  • An error occurs when trying to change the year prompt in a specific query.
  • The error message displayed is 'Query script generation failed. See your administrator. while trying to invoke the method com.businessobjects.mds.olap.metadate.IVariable.getName() of a null object loaded from local variable 'dependency'.
  • The report executes without issues when the prompt value is entered manually (e.g., typing 2024 instead of selecting 2024 from the list).
