3592583 - Error: "Organizational Unit Missing or Effective Dates not Valid" When Hiring a Service Agent

Unable to hire a Service Agent due to the following error:

"Organizational unit missing or effective dates not valid"

"Error in hire of service agent as employee; check your entries"

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Navigate to the Personnel Administration workcenter
2. Proceed to the Regular Task view
3. Select the relevant Country
4. Choose the option to Hire Service Agent as Employee
5. Enter the relevant Service Agent ID
6. Enter the Hire Date and Save

Observe the below error:

"Organizational unit missing or effective dates not valid"

"Error in hire of service agent as employee; check your entries"

The Organizational Unit and Job details have not been maintained for the Service Agent.

To hire a Service Agent, make sure to maintain the Organizational Unit and Job details by following the below steps:

1. Go to Business Partner Data workcenter
2. Go to Service Agents view
3. Search for the relevant Service Agent
4. Edit and Select General 
5. Under Organizational Assignment, maintain the value for Organizational Unit and Job fields
6. Save
