Symptom

  • /SDF/SMON_SCHEDULER fails intermittently

  • In the /SDF/SMON_SCHEDULER job log, you see these entries and no dump is triggered in ST22:
    • Only 1 Watchdog is allowed. All running /SDF/SMON_WATCHDOG are deleted.
      Job /SDF/SMON_WATCHDOG no longer exists
      Job /SDF/SMON_WATCHDOG no longer exists
      Job deletion failed. Delete manually job /SDF/SMON_WATCHDOG.
      Job canceled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE

  • In the days leading up to failed /SDF/SMON_SCHEDULER job, there are duplicate (2x) or multiple (3x) /SDF/SMON_WATCHDOG jobs running with the same start time
