3593520 - How to adjust Decimals Display in the system?

Symptom

  • The planned quantity for a production order is displaying in decimal format instead of the expected whole number format.

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to the Production Control work center.
  2. Go to the Production Order view.
  3. Find and select the production order with ID
  4. Edit the order and check the 'Planned Quantity'.
  5. Planned Quantity is displayed as  3 decimals instead of whole number.

Cause

The system follows the decimal settings from the "Quantities and Unit of Measure" activity. Therefore system displays the quantity with decimals only. 

For any unit example "L" (litre), if it is set to 3 decimal places system displays the quantity until 3 decimal places.

Resolution

  1. Go to the Work Center Business Configuration.
  2. Go to the View Implementation Projects.
  3. Select Show All Open Projects.
  4. Select the relevant project and click on the Open Activity List button.
  5. Go to the Fine Tune phase.
  6. Show All Activities and find for Quantities and Units of Measure.
  7. Select the Activity Quantities and Units of Measure and choose Open button.
  8. Choose the link Create and Maintain Trading Units/Create and Maintain Physical Units(based on your requirement).
  9. Now find required field ( Unit, UoM Symbol , Description and Reference UoM) and change Display Decimals to 0.
  10. Make the required changes and perform Save.
