Symptom

  • Request for information on what occurs during a scheduled maintenance activity.
  • Query on whether background/backend jobs are stopped during scheduled maintenance and upgrades.

Cause

Resolution

  1. All Maintenance activities are performed during CMP (Contractual Maintenance Period). These activities may include Hot fixing Deployment, Hardware Maintenance, Network changes etc.
  2. Release upgrades are performed during a separate upgrade window, which is different from CMP. This is communicated 2-3 weeks before in every quarter.
  3. The activities performed can be offline or online. If an activity is offline, the system will not be accessible and background jobs will be stopped. Upgrade, hot fixing, and hardware maintenance are always offline activities.
