3593969 - Error when enrolling dependent in an insurance benefit - Employee Central

When adding a dependent to an Insurance Enrollment, the following error shows upon saving:

"The dependents “XX” are not eligible for the selected “Enrolling For” value “XXX". You can either delete the dependents or change the “Enrollment Status” to “Not Eligible” or “Not Enrolled”."

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Global Benefits

1. Go To Employee Profile;
2. Go to Benefits;
3. Select the Insurance;
4. Add the Dependent;
5. Save.
6. Error is thrown.

Picklists are not correctly configured in Benefit objects and/ or the values of the picklists are not matching. 

1. Make sure the picklist value for the field relationShipType in object definition of "BenefitInsuranceDependentDetail" and "Insurance Dependent Type" is set to 'relationShipType'
2. The external codes for the values of the picklist 'relationShipType' should be the same as the external values for the values of the picklist 'personRelationshipType'

Please note: In case there are already records created for the object "Insurance Dependent Type", when changing the picklist value in Object Definition will fail with error message: "The external code field has existing data, so its data source cannot be changed. Please delete the data before changing the data source." In this case, all records will need to be deleted and recreated after the picklist correction, and the "Select Allowed Dependent Types" will need to be re-saved in all "Eligible Enrollee Options" records.
