1. Navigate to ''Manage purchase order''
2. Created a PO 4500001790 .
3. Found there is no option for Down payment.

Its a missing Functionality.

Down payment option is not available in App ''Manage purchase order'' but this option is available in App ''Create Purchase order advanced'' app. 

In App Create Purchase Order Advanced App under invoice tab DP category option is available there we can maintain the down payment details. To monitor down payment use the link Monitor Purchase Order Down Payments
