This KBA explains the conditions and the steps to upgrade the ByD Team APP to latest version

Conditions to update the new version of the app –

Apps update automatically if there is no change in the application’s functionality or request for organization’s data. If there are one or more changes are developed in the application, then app won’t update automatically. However, users may receive a notification to update an app if their consent is required and the app doesn't auto-update. Users can provide consent by selecting Update option displayed in Teams.

The steps to upgrade the SAP Business ByDesign app to new version requires below steps –

1. If the user’s consent is required, then the Teams simplifies the update experience by requesting the users consent only once.
2. Once the user consents for app update, Teams will update the app in chats, meetings, channels. User doesn’t require to update the app separately in different contexts.
3. If user install or pin the app; Teams updates the app without requiring the consent.
4. Users must provide consent in other contexts once, if a team owner updates the app in team context.
