Symptom
- When creating a return order using the "Manage Customer Returns - v2" app, approvers receive two email notifications (CRT_39 and CRT_26) for a single approval step, even though no rework was requested.
- The issue occurs when the net value of the return order is between 100-1000 GBP.
- The duplicate emails are triggered for the same workflow step.
- The issue has been replicated in the test system.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the 'Manage Customer Returns - v2' app.
- Create a return order with a net value between 100-1000 GBP.
- Submit the return order.
- Observe: Two email notifications are sent to the approver instead of one.
Cause
The workflow contained a Time Constraint (deadline configuration) that triggered a reminder email.
Resolution
Remove any deadline configuration from the workflow step:
- Go to Manage Workflows for Customer Returns.
- Select the relevant workflow (e.g., "All Returns approvals over GBP100 - Level 1").
- Edit the Release of Customer Return step.
- Go to the Deadlines tab.
- Ensure no deadlines are defined (Time Constraints should be empty).
- Save and activate the updated workflow.
