3594851 - Badge Assignment for Contingent Workers Enabled via RBP

Symptom

When attempting to assign badges to contingent workers in the Latest People Profile, access may be restricted depending on permissions.

Reproducing the Issue

In Latest People Profile, navigate to Spotlight of a contingent worker.
Observe that Badge card is controlled through Role-Based Permissions (RBP) and may be visible or restricted based on configuration.

Cause

Prior to the 2H 2025 (2605) release, badge assignment for contingent workers was not supported in the latest people profile, and the system restricted this action by giving the error message "<employee> is a contingent worker. You cannot give a badge to a contingent worker".

Resolution

Badge assignment for contingent workers is now supported and access to this functionality is governed by Role-Based Permissions (RBP).
Access to this functionality can be granted in Admin Center -> Manage Permission Roles under: Employee Data -> Employee Profile -> SF Badges (View/Edit).
Ensure that the target population includes contingent workers, otherwise the option will remain restricted.
