3595153 - Using tokens in Personal and Combined Statement

Symptom

This KBA describe how to add tokens in Personal and Combined Statements.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Compensation
  • SAP SuccessFactors Variable Pay

Resolution

It's possible to add tokens from both Compensation Plans and Employee Central. Please find below the detailed steps on how to do it:

  1. Open the Statement under Manage Statement Template > add/edit statement template
  2. Add the fields from Compensation plan or Employee Central through button "Add Field"
  3. Once you added all desired fields, export the XSL file
  4. Open the XSL file and check the tag "xsl:variable name". In this tag you'll find all field names for the fields you added in step 2. Identify the ones you wish to use as tokens and copy the name. In the example below you want to use jobTitle.

        5. Go to Add/Edit statement template and open the statement.

        6. Add the token [[$jobTitle]] in the Statement.

        7. For all tokens you add ensure you're using [[$ in the beginning, then insert the field name and close the token using ]]

Note: for combined statements, the standard tokens [[$empFirstName]] and [[$empLastName]] are not supported. If you're using it the generation of statement will fail. Please create a custom column mapping the First and Last name from Employee Central and add the tokens as mentioned in this KBA.

For personal statements the standard tokens [[$empFirstName]] and [[$empLastName]] work fine.
