3595292 - Conditions to Record Time for a Service Product

Symptom

This KBA explains the different scenarios and conditions,

  • Whether it is possible to record time for a Service Product
  • Whether it is possible to delete a Service Products

Environment

Resolution

Scenario 1:

  • If service is having status ‘Active’ or ‘Blocked’ at all the levels or any of the level in Purchasing , Sales and Valuation level , then the service can not be deleted.
  • Time booking can be done against this service. Here we can maintain multiple entries at Sales and Valuation level. Out of multiple entries at Sales or Valuation If any entry is having status ‘Active’ or ‘Blocked’, then service can not be deleted and time booking is allowed against that service.
  • The change of status allowed is ‘initial’> ‘In-preparation’ > ‘Active’>’Blocked’> ‘Active’.

Scenario 2:

  • If the service is having ‘In-preparation’ status entry at Purchasing , Sales and Valuation level, then service can be deleted and time booking would not be allowed against this service in this case.

Scenario 3:

  • If for the service , the status’ Initial’  is set at purchasing level and no entries are maintained at Sales and Valuation level , then service can be deleted and time booking would not be allowed against this service in this case.

Additional Note:

  • It is not possible to obsolete a Service Product which is not a supported scenario
