3595651 - Inaccessibility of SAP GUI for Windows Post Windows Update KB5055523

Symptom

After the update of Windows KB5055523, SAP GUI for Windows cannot be used anymore.

Either SAP GUI does not start or nothing happens after you try to connect to a SAP system.

So far the issue has only been reported for SAP GUI 800 32bit version in combination with using Crowdstrike software.

The Windows eventviewer shows for example:

Faulting application name: saplogon.exe, version: 8000.1.7.1161, time stamp: 0x662af788
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.26100.3775, time stamp: 0xe141486e
Exception code: 0xc0000409
Fault offset: 0x000b1c30
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui\saplogon.exe
Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll
