3595798 - Inconsistency in Cost Center Assignment for Different Users in Business User View

The Organizational Unit displayed for certain users in the Business User view is inconsistent with the Org Unit assigned in the "Personnel Administration - Employees" work center view.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Navigate to the "Application and User Management" work center
2. Access the "Business User" view
3. Search for the relevant Business Users and observe the Org Unit displayed
4. Now go to Personnel Administration workcenter
5. Navigate to Employees view
6. Search for the relevant Employees
7. Notice the Org Unit displayed in this view is different from the one which is displayed in the Business User view

• The discrepancy is due to the hierarchical structure of the organization.
• Employees are primarily assigned to reporting line units that correspond to their respective organizational units, ensuring a structured and efficient hierarchy within the organization.
• If the Org Unit is not marked for Reporting Line Unit, then the Employees will be mapped via Hierarchical process.
• In the "Personnel Administration - Employees" and "Business User - Edit Attributes" screens, the displayed data corresponds to the hierarchical level at which the organizational unit is maintained for the reporting line unit.

The issue is not a system error but a result of the hierarchical structure of the organization. The system is working as designed.
