3595904 - Extension Field Properties do not Appear in Adaptation Mode While Editting a Field

You are working with an extension field created via Adaptation mode. When trying to modify values such as the field label or default values, the properties do not appear and are set as read-only.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Open any business object where an extension field needs to be modified.
2. Click on the avatar icon on the top-right of the screen.
3. Click on Key User Settings.
4. Click on Start Adaptation Mode.
5. On the popup that appears, click on Ok.
6. On the panel that opens on the right, click on the + button.
7. Click on Extension Fields.
8. Select the created field.
9. Click on the Edit button

Here the field edit popup appears, however it is not possible to add or modify properties.

The user who is trying to edit the extension field has access to the Partner Development work center view. This access assigns a different access level to the user, which disables the changing of extension fields created via Adaptation Mode.

The system works as expected.

In order to check the user's access and modify it, please follow the below steps:

1. Go to the Application and User Management work center.
2. Enter the Business Users view.
3. Search and select the user.
4. Click on the Edit button.
5. Select Access Rights.
6. Navigate to the Work Center and View Assignment tab.
7. Search for the work center Partner Development (ID PDI_PARTNER_DEVELOPMENT)
