Cross Tab and Chart widgets are failing with below Error when a Translatable field is added.

Internal error occurred while processing.
Try to re-open the story or refresh the browser.

            "DetailedError": "Caught exception : exception 70000002: general error: Internal error. Please open a ticket and include the service trace files which cover the time of the query execution.\n"

Blended widgets with translatable field data types result in errors.

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

1. Login into instance;
2. Create a new Story report;
3. Select a Dimension field which is defined as Data Type Translatable in configuration;
4. 
5. When we Preview Query data is seen without any issues;
6. Click Finish;
7. In Story designer click on Table -> Select Non-Aggregated List widget and select fields including Generic object Dimension field, we can see data without any issues;
8. Change existing Non-Aggregated List widget to Cross Tab or create a new Cross Tab widget and add Generic object Dimension field we can see below error;
9. "Internal error occurred while processing
   Try to re-open the story or refresh the browser"
10. Same Error is also seen when we add Generic object Dimension field in a Chart widget.

Known HANA DB issue

The Issue has been fixed as of 23rd May 2026.

Background

The fix was originally planned for deployment with the 2511 release, followed by a HANA upgrade across Production Data Centers. During the recent upgrade of HANA in the Preview Data Centers, however, critical issues were identified that impacted key modules, including Recruiting (RCM), Learning (LMS), and Employee Central (EC).

To safeguard system stability and avoid potential disruptions, the upgrade of Production Data Centers has been placed on hold.

Following discussions with the HANA team, it has been confirmed that version 82 will not receive the required fixes. 

To ensure long‑term stability, the recommendation is for SuccessFactors to move directly to version 89 in release 2605.

• The HANA team has assured us that any bugs identified in v89 will be addressed promptly and will not hinder the upgrade path.

• For SuccessFactors customers, the next planned upgrade is to version 88/89 in the May 2026 release.
