3596064 - Add to Quote error when Updating quote in Configurator

You are experiencing an error "Error during Add to Quote - Object reference not set to an instance of an object", when trying to edit a product of type Parent/Child System (List) of Configurable Products in the configurator and update the quote.

SAP SALES CLOUD CPQ integrated with SAP CPS

1. Search for quote.
2. Click to edit product of type Parent/Child System (List) of Configurable Products in the configurator.
3. In configurator. see product has a Base price.
4. Click Update Proposal/Quote.
5. See error.

• The hierarchy was changed in the CPS runtime configuration, the parent root item had been changed so that some items were on the second level when they were added to the quote initially but in the Configurator, those items are on the third level.
• Bug found in CPQ.

• Quote items should always match the hierarchy from the Configurator since the items are generated according to the Configurator structure.
• Should be resolved as part of version 2508.

Workaround:

• Set the public application parameter Propagate Quantity to Nested Products to False (Application Parameters page in Setup -> tab Shopping Cart and Quotes).
• Once the proposed parameter is set to False, the user can try to update problematic items and quotes, and when finishing they can set the parameter to True again.
