3596247 - Error when submitting New Employee - 1H 2025

Symptom

When hiring a new employee via Add New Employee page and submit it, error appears.

"java.lang.IllegalStateException: java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "java.lang.Long.longValue()" because the return value of "com.successfactors.workflows.api.bean.WorkflowPendingAttribute.getCategoryKey()" is null."

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Add New Employee page
  2. Fill in all the details and proceed till last portlet 
  3. Click submit
  4. Error appears : "java.lang.IllegalStateException: java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "java.lang.Long.longValue()" because the return value of "com.successfactors.workflows.api.bean.WorkflowPendingAttribute.getCategoryKey()" is null."

Resolution

  • Engineering Team has done code fiix and The fix for this issue is planned to be deployed on April 29th 2025  in preview instance/
