3596463 - How to modify the profile parameters of SM19 (Security Audit Log) via RZ10

This KBA applies only where a change to a profile parameter of the Security Audit Log is to be made. The parameters pertaining to the Security Audit Log can be checked via the "Profile Parameters" drop-down option of the "Environment" menu in SM19. The parameter values and details can be further checked via Maintain Profile Parameter transaction RZ11.

• ABAP Platform - SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP
• Specifically for the profile parameters FN_AUDIT and DIR_AUDIT this KBA applies broadly to all SAP BASIS versions on both the new and old SAL environments
• For all other Security Audit Log (SAL) profile parameters this KBA applies to the old SAL environment (described in SAP note 539404) for systems with SAP BASIS lower than 7.55
• The new SAL enviroment (described in SAP note 2191612) uses Kernel Parameters instead of profile parameters (with the exception of the FN_AUDIT and DIR_AUDIT profile parameters which still are used. The method described in this KBA does not apply to SAL Kernel Parameters.
