3596836 - Issue with Saving Billing Item in Customer Project in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

  • When attempting to save a billing item in a customer project, an error message is triggered.
  • The error message states: "An exception with the type CX_SY_ITAB_LINE_NOT_FOUND was raised, but was not handled locally or declared in a RAISING clause."
  • This issue is preventing the project from starting ("In execution") as the billing item needs to be saved first.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Connect with the relevant CB user.
  2. Open the Plan Customer Projects tile.
  3. Access the specific project.
  4. Navigate to the Billing tab.
  5. Populate the empty billing item with the necessary values.
  6. Press the Save button.
  7. The error popup with the mentioned messages will appear.

Cause

  • A partner assigned to the project did not have a valid work agreement for the project period.
  • The system attempts to access internal table lt_enddate without checking if a matching entry exists, leading to unhandled exception CX_SY_ITAB_LINE_NOT_FOUND.

Resolution

Correct the business data:

Ensure that all assigned project partners (especially BU Responsible roles) have:

  • A valid work agreement (employment data) covering the project period.
