Symptom
- When attempting to save a billing item in a customer project, an error message is triggered.
- The error message states: "An exception with the type CX_SY_ITAB_LINE_NOT_FOUND was raised, but was not handled locally or declared in a RAISING clause."
- This issue is preventing the project from starting ("In execution") as the billing item needs to be saved first.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Connect with the relevant CB user.
- Open the Plan Customer Projects tile.
- Access the specific project.
- Navigate to the Billing tab.
- Populate the empty billing item with the necessary values.
- Press the Save button.
- The error popup with the mentioned messages will appear.
Cause
- A partner assigned to the project did not have a valid work agreement for the project period.
- The system attempts to access internal table lt_enddate without checking if a matching entry exists, leading to unhandled exception CX_SY_ITAB_LINE_NOT_FOUND.
Resolution
Correct the business data:
Ensure that all assigned project partners (especially BU Responsible roles) have:
- A valid work agreement (employment data) covering the project period.
