3597335 - Date format MM-DD-YYYY is not supported in the Excel Upload for List Price Creation

System throws an error while creating the List price through Excel Upload : "The value of the field 'Valid From (MM-DD-YYYY)' is invalid."

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Product portfolio work center.
2. Navigate to the List prices view.
3. Click on New and select List Prices from Microsoft Excel.
4. Open the downloaded Excel format and enter all the relevant details.
5. Attempt to upload the file.
6. Observe the error message in the Excel : "The value of the field 'Valid From (MM-DD-YYYY)' is invalid."

The default format in the header in the Excel downloaded from the ByDesign system is MM-DD-YYYY. When the date is entered in this format (MM-DD-YYYY), the system still throws an error. Because the date format MM-DD-YYYY is not supported in all the versions of Excel. 

When the system does not accept the date entered in the format MM-DD-YYYY in List price Excel upload, follow the below steps to resolve the error : 

1. Open the Excel worksheet for List price upload.
2. Enter all the required data.
3. Right click the date cell.
4. Click Format Cells.
5. Navigate to Number -> Date.
6. Confirm the supported date format in the used Excel version and choose one date format.
7. Enter the date follow the chosen format.
8. Save the data in the Excel.
9. Upload the List prices through Excel upload.
10. The list prices will be successfully created in the system.
