Request feature to control budget on Fixed Asset Purchasing (Balance Sheet, account assignment A) in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

Purchase order or purchase requisition with account assignment G/L account of cost element category 90 is not supported. Because the G/L Account Type is "Balance Sheet Account". Therefore, an account assignment wbs-element in combination with asset is not supported. 

To enhance budget control for Fixed Asset postings, we recommend utilizing Investment Projects created through the "Project Control - Enterprise Projects" App, which supports Budget Availability Control (AVC).

When ordering materials with account assignment P (Investment Projects), the ordered materials will initially be recorded as costs on the Investment Project. Here, budget limits can be enforced. Subsequently, these costs can be settled to Fixed Assets on balance sheet accounts.

It’s not necessary to create a unique Investment Project for each Fixed Asset. Instead, you can group assets—for example, by asset type, such as laptops, phones, etc.—under a single Investment Project. You can then settle the total amounts to individual Fixed Assets incrementally, corresponding to each order.

Beginning with release 2602, a planned feature will allow line-item settlement, simplifying this approach further. With this functionality, you'll be able to settle each invoice on the project individually and more efficiently.

Additionally, starting with release 2508, Budget AVC will also be available for Project Stock Purchasing (account assignment Q). This feature will support budget control for material reservations tied to projects, providing enhanced oversight for project-related procurements.
