• Unable to close MM period in advance.
• Error "MMPV_DATE_CHECK: Errors occurred (see Note 1082841) Transaction MMPV cannot be executed. Enter a date/period that is no more than 10 days from the current date" appears when trying to close MM period

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open Close Period (MMPV) for Product Master app
2. Enter next period
3. Click on Run
4. Error appears

By default, 'Close Periods(MMPV)' is allowed only if the new period is within 10 days away from the current date in the system. 
Otherwise, an error will be displayed and no change will be made.

There could be different fiscal year variant for different company codes.
For example, for one company code, fiscal year variant is V6.
For MM period 2024/10, the calendar period from 04/01/2025 to 04/30/2025, 
which means the period for 2024/10 can only be opened if the 04/01/2025 is within 10 days away from the current date.

To revert wrong period shift and correct such posting errors is difficult, especially when Material Ledger is active. 
This is a standard behavior as per design.

In S/4HANA Public Cloud Edition it is currently not supported to open the next period in advance (more than 10 days before actual period beginning).
