Symptom

  • The update of the SAP HANA Database using hdblcm ends with an error as following:
    Update of SAP HANA Database components failed.
      Cannot detect command line options dynamically.
        Cannot get external program configuration 
  • Following error can be found in hdblcm.log
    INFO: Getting external program configuration
    ERR : Cannot get external program configuration
    INFO: cannot exec /<path>/SAP_HANA_DATABASE/lss/instruntime/sdbrun: Permission denied
    ERR : Cannot detect LCMsdk version.
