3598108 - Shopping Cart Supplier Assignment in SAP Business ByDesign

• When raising a shopping cart, the supplier field does not have a search box next to it, only able to select preferred supplier.
• The supplier that is inputted within the Shopping Cart does not come through to the Purchase Request, without needing to assign the preferred supplier to each purchase request.

Purchase Requests and Orders.

1. Go to Home Work Center.
2. Navigate to the Self-Services view and choose the Self-Services Overview option.
3. Select Go Shipping from under the Shopping section.
4. In the Edit Shipping Cart chevron, observe the Supplier field, but not able to search and select a supplier of choice in this screen.

• Supplier field in Shopping Cart is meant for defined Suppliers which is applicable only for Catalog items.
• While setting up the catalog, Supplier is defined for a catalog item and it carries to the shopping cart.
• Shopping Cart users are end users in a department and they know what product to request and not always aware of supplier.
• They can however, suggest a supplier (through Preferred Supplier).
• It is the role of Purchaser to review the purchase request on all aspects and either accept the preferred Supplier or change supplier to take it forward.
• There is no fine-tuning activity or Scoping question for Auto Accept Preferred Supplier.

• A custom solution to accept preferred supplier automatically can be built by implementation partner if the customers business has this requirement.
