Symptom
When performing the migration of new purchase orders in the system, the simulation step displays error message.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Business Configuration work center.
- Go to Overview view.
- Search for Migration of Purchase Orders.
- Select the activity and open it.
- Click on the link 'Migrate purchase orders using the migration tool' to open the Migration tool.
- Click in Upload and select 'Data From Migration File'.
- Choose the xml file to upload the purchase orders to be migrated.
- Click in Upload button.
- Click in Execute Migration button and select Execute Migration Step by Step.
- Follow all the steps (clicking in Next).
It triggers error message: 'Tax region for country ABC in item N missing' (ABC is the country name and N is the item number).
Cause
The address maintained in the Recipient's master data is incomplete. The steps to verify it are listed below:
- Go to Personnel Administration work center.
- Go to Employees view.
- Search for XYZ (XYZ is the Recipient ID).
- Click in Edit button
- Navigate to Employment tab.
- Navigate to Workplace Contact Data subtab.
Address Data is not maintained or is incomplete.
Resolution
A workaround would be to not maintain the Recipient in the xml file.
A final resolution would be to maintain the complete Address in the Recipient's master data.
