3598851 - Application Error When Candidates Complete a Custom Task - Onboarding

Symptom

  • An application error occurs when a candidate attempts to complete a custom task.
  • The error message "There was an application error." is displayed.
  • The error is specific to a candidate who has been restarted.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login as the candidate user.
  2. Navigate to the custom task.
  3. Attempt to complete the custom task.
  4. The error message "There was an application error." is displayed.

Cause

  • The cause of the issue is that the candidate had previously completed the custom task, and upon completion, an object is generated to store this data.
  • However, when the candidate was restarted, the original onboarding process was cancelled and a new process was generated, but the already generated object used to store the data was not deleted automatically.
  • Therefore, when the candidate attempts to complete the new custom task, this error occurs because the object used to store the data for this task already exists.

Resolution

  1. Go to "Manage Data".
  2. Search the name of the custom task.
  3. Search the candidate name to get the object.
  4. Click "Take Actions".
  5. Select "Permanently Delete Entry".
  6. Allow the candidate to complete the custom task again.
