Symptom
- An application error occurs when a candidate attempts to complete a custom task.
- The error message "There was an application error." is displayed.
- The error is specific to a candidate who has been restarted.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding
Reproducing the Issue
- Login as the candidate user.
- Navigate to the custom task.
- Attempt to complete the custom task.
- The error message "There was an application error." is displayed.
Cause
- The cause of the issue is that the candidate had previously completed the custom task, and upon completion, an object is generated to store this data.
- However, when the candidate was restarted, the original onboarding process was cancelled and a new process was generated, but the already generated object used to store the data was not deleted automatically.
- Therefore, when the candidate attempts to complete the new custom task, this error occurs because the object used to store the data for this task already exists.
Resolution
- Go to "Manage Data".
- Search the name of the custom task.
- Search the candidate name to get the object.
- Click "Take Actions".
- Select "Permanently Delete Entry".
- Allow the candidate to complete the custom task again.
