3598909 - No Progress in Phase MAIN_TRANSEXEC/ACT_TRANS During SUM Upgrade

Symptom

  • During the upgrade from Ehp5 to Ehp6 using Software Update Manager (SUM), the phase MAIN_TRANSEXEC/ACT_TRANS shows no progress hours.
  • Logs in the SUM/abap/log directory are not updated.
  • The phase continues to run even after stopping and repeating the SUM phase.
  • A runtime error "TSV_LIN_ALLOC_FAILED" is found in ST22.
  • The job RDDMASGL is in "Active" status in SM37.
