Symptom

  • The issue arises when attempting to export data into excel using the background processing option in Web Dynpro ABAP.
  • The pop-up message "The export might take some time or even fail" might appear.
  • Cell merging for the export is enabled. This can be achieved in the grid directly, or via the "Export As..." dialog.
