Symptom

When creating sales order or a service order, an unexpected exchange rate type is determined.

    Environment

    SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

    Reproducing the Issue

    1. Create a sales order or service order.
    2. Check the exchange rate in item level.

    Cause

    In the app "Manage Customer Master Data", for the sold-to party and sales area of the order, the field "Exchange Rate Type" is wrongly maintained.

    When creating sales or service order, the system will fetch the value of the "Exchange Rate Type". If the field is blank, the system will default pick "M" as exchange rate type.

    Resolution

    Maintain the field "Exchange Rate Type" for the sold-to party in the app "Manage Customer Master Data" according to the business need.
