Symptom

  • Inquiry about the existence of contract types for which Company Code/Plants are not mandatory.
  • Requirement for central contracts for different plants across different company codes, assigned to one Purchasing organization.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Attempt to create a Central Purchasing Contract in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
  2. Try to use contract types for which Company Code/Plants are not mandatory.

Cause

Its a standard system configuration for central purchase contract.

Resolution

  1. It is informed that there are no document types for contracts where company code is not mandatory.
  2. For any contract to be created, a Purchasing Organization connected to the company code is required.
  3. Plant is optional to create a contract.
