Symptom
- While migrating inspection plans using the migration cockpit in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, an error occurs.
- The error message states: "Valuation mode of the sampling procedure does not match the inspection characteristic."
- This error occurs even when the file used for migration has been previously loaded without issues.
- The error specifically occurs for rows corresponding to quantitative MICs, with upper and lower limits and a sampling procedure with valuation mode - mean value within tolerance range.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to the Migration Cockpit App.
- Attempt to migrate the required inspection file.
- Notice the error.
Cause
The issue arises due to incorrect master data configuration. The valuation mode 700 (Valuation by tolerance limits) requires specification limits. However, the "Indicator for Upper Specification Limit" and "Indicator for Lower Specification Limit" were not set in the migration template, leading to the error.
Resolution
- Ensure that the mode "N" for Reference to Master Inspection is being used. This mode creates a lockable and unlockable reference to the master inspection characteristic without a data transfer from the master inspection characteristic.
- Manually fill out all fields in the 'Characteristics' sheet of the migration template.
- Ensure that the "Indicator for Upper Specification Limit" and "Indicator for Lower Specification Limit" are set in the template.
