3599910 - "Copy data based on filter" of the version copy keeps loading in SAP Analytics Cloud for Planning (SAC)

Symptom

  • In SAP Analytics Cloud, while copying the private version in view mode, the filter item selection does not appear when selecting "Copy data based on filter". It keeps loading and showing the 3 dots (...).
  • In the Console tab of the developers tools of the web browser, the following error is recorded:
    • Uncaught (in promise) TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'getTableController')

  • The filter items are displayed without any issues in edit mode.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in to SAP Analytics Cloud with user credentials.
  2. Open the story in view mode.
  3. Select a planning table.
  4. Open version management.
  5. Click the copy button for an public version.
  6. Select "Copy data based on filter".
  7. The system keeps loading and does not show the dimension filters.

Cause

  • This issue is related to the new table feature.
  • It occurs when trying to do "copy data based on filter" with Planning Enabled option unselected in the table designer.

Resolution

Short-term fix (to be included in QRC2.2025):

  • Story is opened in the view mode and the planning enabled option is disabled for the table: when users select that option, no pre-selected filters are filled, but user still can customize with + button from the scratch.
  • Other cases (including Edit mode or View mode and planning enabled): when users select that option, the current table filter will be filled as default and user can customize by changing it.

Long-term fix (still in process):

  • All cases: when users select that option, the current table filter will be filled as default and users can customize by changing it.

Note: This KBA will be continually updated as new information becomes available.
