Symptom

  • Error: 940 is created if 'deferred name resolution' is disabled or set to 0
  • Msg 940, Level 26, State 8:
    Server 'ASE', Procedure '<ASE_proc>', Line 14:
    Dbtable in wrong state for operation: DBTABLE pointer = 0x177b33c80, dbid = 2, state = 0x2, status= 0xc, keep = 1, system task keep = 0, name = 'tempdb'.
    ASE is terminating this process
  • The stacktrace includes any the following set of functions:
    open_user_table.fdpr.chunk
    open_range.fdpr.chunk
    s_opentables
    s_mustrecompile.fdpr.chunk
    s_execute.fdpr.chunk
