Symptom
Date dimension(Data Type is Date or String) of the Analytic Model in Datasphere cannot be found in the SAC story when trying to add it to the row or column of a table. However, when previewing the same Analytic Model in Datasphere, the dimension is shown. The dimension has the "Semantic Type" set to "Calendar - Day."
"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."
Environment
- SAP Analytics Cloud
- SAP Datasphere
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the story in SAC.
- Try to add it to the row or column of a table. Date dimension of the Analytic Model cannot be found.
Cause
The behavior is expected and works as designed.
Previously, there was an issue where semantic types were incorrectly mapped, which caused other complications. Now that the semantic type mapping has been corrected, this default SAC story behavior functions as intended.
Resolution
To show the dimension in the SAC story, choose one of the solutions below:
- Set the Semantic Type of the dimension to "Calendar - Day of Year".
- Set the Semantic Type of the dimension to "None".
Then, deploy the Analytic Model again to reflect the change.
To achieve functionality like DSP generated time dimension, set the Semantic Type to "Calendar - Day of Year" for all columns representing a date where "Calendar - Day" was previously applied.
