3601114 - Error "Cannot locate the java.exe in application" when reversing a BusinessObjects universe - SAP PD

Symptom

  • An error message is displayed when attempting to reverse a BusinessObjects universe:
       Cannot locate the java.exe in application C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86
  • The java.exe file does not exist in the above directory.
  • The value of the Registry key BinDir located under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\default is
       C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86\.
  • The java.exe file can be located in the following directories:
       C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86\sapjvm\bin
       and C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86\sapjvm\jre\bin.
