3601150 - Dynamic text does not update in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• Dynamic text used in the Calculation Description does not update based on Calculated Input Control or Formula input control values after any update or changes made to the underlying model.
  
  
• Although the updated value is visible in the Calculation Input Control or Formula input control , the calculation description within the chart does not reflect the change.

SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) – Version 2024.21.14

1. Log in to SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
2. Create a story with a chart and add a restricted calculation. Select a dimension (e.g., “Location”) and create a Calculation Input Control with single selection and use the created Calculation Input Control in the calculation description.
3. Save both the calculation and the story. The selected value from the Calculation Input Control appears in the calculation description.
4. Open the associated model.
5. Modify the value of the selected dimension (for example, rename a member).
6. Save the model.
7. Reopen the story.

• This issue occurs because the calculation description is not subscribed to dynamic member Calculation Input Control value changes during story load.
  
  
• To address this issue, it requires a major design-level change and through validation, which cannot be delivered through patch releases. Hence, this is now considered a known limitation. 

• Change the value in the Calculation Input Control, re-select the new value from the Calculation Input Control list of values, save the story, and reload it. The updated value will then be reflected in the description.
  
  
• For Formula input control , remove the Calculation Input Control reference from the calculation description and save the calculation. Then reopen the calculation, re-add the Calculation Input Control reference in the description, and save it again. This will update the description with the new value from the model.
  
  

• This behaviour is being tracked and will be addressed as part of an upcoming feature in a future release.
