3601543 - Different Journal Entry Types for Physical Inventory Count Document

Symptom

In Report: G/L Accounts - Line Items, the Journal Entry Type is different for journal entries A and B despite that both of them are created from Physical Inventory Count documents.

(A and B represents different journal entries.)

 

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

Go to General Ledger - List view.

Open Report: G/L Accounts - Line Items.

See the following:

For journal entry A, the Journal Entry Type is Goods Issue for Consumption;

For journal entry B, the Journal Entry Type is Goods Issue without Reference.

Cause

Whether there is a cost center selected in the source document(Physical Inventory Count Document) leads to the difference in the journal entry type.

If there is a cost center selected in the related Physical Inventory Count Document, the Journal Entry Type is Goods Issue for Consumption. On the contrary, if there is no cost center selected, the Journal Entry Type is Goods Issue without Reference.

Resolution

This is the standard system behavior.
