Symptom
Unable to enable a number range for external use
Environment
-
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Cause
The cause of the issue is the restriction on changing the number range to an internal or external number range for reserved ranges. This is a standard SAP design and behavior.
Resolution
- Understand that existing number range intervals in SAP are restricted and cannot be changed to an internal or external number range for reserved ranges.
- Create new number range intervals using SSCUI according to the business case.
- Use SSCUI: 103412 to create the customized number range.
- Use SSCUI: 102909 to assign it to the customized PO document type within the allowed ranges.
The following number ranges are predefined in the standard SAP system:
Purchase Order:
-
- Internal number assignment 4500000000 to 4599999999
- External number assignment 4100000000 to 4199999999
RFQ/quotation:
-
- Internal number assignment 6000000000 to 6099999999
