3601588 - Understanding and Setting ORA_MON_DBCON-MAX_RUNTIME Value in SAP enhancement package for SAP ERP

Symptom

  • The ORA_MON_DBCON-MAX_RUNTIME parameter was set to a very high value (100,000) from its default (1800 or 3600), following the steps detailed in SAP Note 1482296.
  • The return code was 32 with a DURATION around 86,000.
  • Uncertainty exists about whether this high value is normal or could cause other issues.
