3601611 - Time out Dump while Generating 'Schedule of Fixed Asset Report' in SAP Business ByDesign

The Schedule of Fixed Assets report takes an unusually long time to load when run for a full year without specifying accounting periods. Attempts to run it by fixed asset class also result in timeouts, with the error: "Failed to open report – Internal Server Error." 

SAP Business ByDesign 

1. Navigate to the Fixed Asset work center.
2. Access the List sub view under the Reports.
3. Search for the Report Category - Schedule of Fixed Assets.
4. Provide inputs for the fields such as Access Context, Company, Set of Books, Valuation view, Accounting Period/Year.
5. Run the report. No data is generated, and an error message is displayed as: "Failed to open report – Internal Server Error." 

This is due to the large volume of assets and transactions processed during report execution.

Although the report includes a selection field for Fixed Asset Class, the current report logic does not effectively utilize this parameter to optimize data retrieval.

As a result, even when the field is filled in, the system processes a large dataset, leading to memory and performance constraints.

This enhancement will be delivered in an upcoming system release. 

To extract details for specific fixed asset classes, the following steps can be followed: 

1. Navigate to the Reporting Run work center.
2. Select the Definitions view.
3. Select the Option New.
4. Fill the required parameters and select Run.
5. Then, the file can be downloaded in Results view.
