Symptom
When creating substitutions with multiple workflow substitution profiles for the same user on the same date, the system does not create a new rule but overwrites the existing one. As a result, the most recently created rule is the only one available. However, if the start dates and end dates for the substitutions are different, the system accepts and creates multiple entries.
For example:
- If the time frame for substitution profile A is set from January 1, 2025, to January 1, 2099, and then substitution profile B is created with a time frame from January 1, 2026, to January 1, 2050, the time frame for substitution profile A will be split into two parts upon the creation of substitution profile B: January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, and January 2, 2050, to January 1, 2099.
- If the time frame for substitution profile A is set from January 1, 2025, to January 1, 2099, and then substitution profile B is created with the same time frame, substitution profile B will overwrite substitution profile A.
