Symptom
Balance reset to zero with "Classic" posting method during termination when no termination rule assigned.
But from Help Portal implementation guide, it is stating: ". If no termination rule is assigned to the time account type, accruals remain the same. They are neither prorated nor recalculated to zero. "
Which is correct?
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
Reproducing the Issue
- Maintain Time Account Type's posting method as "Classic" and no termination rule assigned under this Time Account Type.
- Terminate an employee with this Time Account Type in the system.
- Observe that time account balance is reset to zero with 3 postings(which is expected as it is "classic" posting method).
Cause
This is the expected behavior.
Help Portal is referring to "No Recalculation Posting" as "Classic" posting method is not supposed to be used anymore.
Resolution
- Change the "Accrual Recalculation Posting Method" setting to "No Recalculation Postings". (If you are not able to edit that, you can go to Configure Object Definition>Change "accrualRecalculationPostingMethod " visibility to Editable.)
2. Alternatively, set a termination rule same as the accrual rule.
