Symptom
- There is a need to create bin locations in bulk against a location.
- This limitation hinders the ability to use bin location function in ByDesign.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Supply Chain Design Master Data
- Navigate to the Locations view.
- Search and select the relevant Site.
- The option to enter multiple logistics areas is not visible.
Cause
- The system allows the creation of multiple logistics areas under a site.
- The Edit Site Layout screen provides the option to add multiple logistics areas under a site.
- However, there is no option to create and add new logistics areas via Excel upload.
Resolution
- Go to Supply Chain Design Master Data
- Navigate to the Locations view.
- Search and select the relevant Site.
- Choose the Edit Site Layout option.
- Select the Add Multiple Logistics Areas button.
- Enter the Pattern ID, From and To Logistics Area IDs and Reference Logistics area from which the new logistics areas/bins should be created.
- Choose the OK button.
- Review the list of Logistics Areas created and choose the Save button.
Note: Choose the Logistics Area for reference from under the same site.
