Resolution
Important details:
The Rich Text Editor has been updated across the suite and the following Recruiting pages have now the new version:
a. For Recruiting users:
- Agency comments
- Contact candidates
- Interview scheduling
- Job requisitions
- Offer letter creation
b. In Admin Center:
- Employee Referral Program Setup
- Manage Duplicate Candidates
- Manage Offer Letter Templates
- Manage Recruiting Custom Help Text
- Manage Recruiting Email Templates
- Manage Recruiting Sites
c. Before and After:
The new editor supports most functionality that was available in the old one, although the names or interaction pattern may have changed. Some less critical options aren't available in the SAP editor yet, such as:
- Preset paragraph and heading styles.
- Style tags and Inline styles are allowed and supported in the text body.
- Style tags example: <style type="text/css">.pagebreak { page-break-before: always; }</style>
- Inline style tags example: <div style="page-break-before: always"> </div>
- Uploading an image to a specific server
- Choosing different styles for list items, like square bullets or Roman numerals
- Emoticons
- The Spell Check option is no longer available on pages that use the updated editor. You can use your browser's built-in spell check function instead. For more information, refer to Deprecation of Spell Check Feature
Additional Notes:
- The legacy Text Editor version cannot be re-enabled.
- URLs should be added with protocols like 'http:// or https:// ', 'mailto:', and 'tel:'.
- Email hyperlinks should be added as 'mailto: xxx@sap.com'.
Limitations:
- Not all size points are available, e.g., 16.
- Tokens do not resolve in the Preview section of the editor.
- Tokens will not be highlighted in yellow.
- It is currently not possible to expand or resize the editor. The resize option will be added in future releases. Reference RCM-150941.
- With the Source Code popup open and using the Browser's Find Text function (CTRL + F), all matching text from both Source Code and editor will appear in the results. This has been confirmed as expected behavior.
- The tokens will not appear to be highlighted when you try to select them, but they are actually selected. For example: When you click on CTRL + A on the text body of the RTE, all the tokens do not appear to be selected. Though, when you paste it on a notepad, you will see that even the tokens were copied. The same with selecting or highlighting the tokens and deleting them, they would still be deleted.
- Adding a hash key or hash tag in front of a word or sentence, after pressing enter results to the word or sentence becoming a heading.
- There are no extra spaces added between Paragraph and Bulleted list.
- Paragraphs (<p>) are treated as separate blocks and can be itemized (i.e., converted to list items).
These are items separated by using ENTER. These will appear with bullet points per line. - Line breaks (<br>) are inline, and the RTE won’t treat them as separate list items.
These are items separate by using Shift + ENTER. These will appear with 1 bullet point for the whole text. - The paste icon is not working in the New Rich Text Editor.
- Standalone span element (<span>) is not supported. Span elements without classes, styles, or attributes are automatically removed by RTE. These spans are considered redundant because they have no visual or functional effect on the content. Add inline styles to give them meaning. Any span with at least one attribute will be retained during cleanup.
Given that these behaviors are expected, you can submit an Enhancement Request: 2090228 - How to Submit Ideas for SAP SuccessFactors Products.
Known Issues:
- #1 - Offer Letter Token Font Defaulting to Verdana. Applying other font styles to the token font does not work.
- Workaround 1: Select the styles from the rich text editor and then insert the token. When in the rich text editor, select all the style options needed, e.g., bold, italics, font size, etc., then add the token from the token list. The style selected will apply on the token.
- Workaround 2: Add dummy text around the token or add the token in a text paragraph and then apply the style options. The style options will apply to the token as long as it is surrounded by text.
- Workaround 3: Go to source code and add the style options as html code.
- Please note that the formatting of existing templates will not be changed or be affected by this issue.
