Symptom
When confirming a production order with goods movements using the 'Confirm Production Operation' app, the system completes the confirmation and posts the goods movements. However, the resulting material document displays the 'Transaction Code' as 'Postprocess Faulty Goods Movements (COGI)', even though the confirmation was performed without errors.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the Confirm Production Operation app.
- Confirm a production order that includes goods movements.
- Once the confirmation is complete, check the documented goods movement.
- Open the material document created.
- Navigate to the Document Info section.
- Observe that the Transaction Code field displays: Postprocess Faulty Goods Movements (COGI).
Resolution
When a production order is confirmed using the Fiori app "Confirm Production Operation", the corresponding goods movements are processed in a decoupled background process, separate from the confirmation process itself. During this background process, the system no longer has visibility of the origin, which leads to the use of the COGI for the material document.
This background process is used for other types of confirmations, such as BAPI, API, mass processing, and COGI itself. Therefore, COGI is assigned to the material document as a standard technical behavior, regardless of whether the goods movement was successfully posted.
This behavior reflects the current standard system functionality and is not configurable or changeable.
