3602614 - MDF portlets randomly throwing error "There is no Configuration UI with name"

Symptom

Users are receiving intermittent messages in multiple portlets saying there is no UI configured. For example:

  • "There is no Configuration UI with name cust_ABC. The Configuration UI defined as the default screen for the object does not exist. Please modify or remove the default screen from the object definition. "

But there is an existing UI configured.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Employee Files
  2. Go to the portlet where the data you need to see is displayed.
  3. Error may happen or not, it is intermittent.

Cause

This is due to the fact the object ConfigUIMeta has been marked as secured=Yes which is not supported.

Resolution

  1. You must not change the configuration of MDF core objects except for the object labels.
  2. All MDF core objects are non-RBP secured.
  3. Do not change the security attribute of these objects.
